Rookery School

School Day

A consistent school day helps children arrive ready to learn, feel secure in their routines and make the most of every lesson and opportunity.

Making Every School Day Count

A positive start to the school day helps children feel settled, confident and ready to learn. At Rookery, our daily routines provide consistency and structure, helping pupils make the most of their learning, friendships and wider experiences throughout the day.

Families can find all the essential information about the school day here, including arrival and collection arrangements, start and finish times and the total compulsory school hours each week. We also provide information about any arrangements that differ between year groups or provisions.

Alongside the school day, families can find details of breakfast provision, after-school clubs and other extended opportunities, helping everyone understand what is available beyond normal school hours.

Opening & Closing Times

Our school day is designed to give children plenty of time to learn, develop and enjoy school life. Details of our official start and finish times, together with the total hours in a typical school week, are provided below for families.

Arriving at School

Arriving on time helps children enjoy a calm, positive start to their day and ensures they are ready for learning. Families should use the appropriate entrance for their child's year group and follow the arrival arrangements outlined below.

Collection

At the end of the school day, children are collected in accordance with our safeguarding arrangements. Please collect your child promptly and let us know about any changes to their usual collection arrangements or the adults authorised to collect them.

Breakfast & After-School Provision

Rookery offers opportunities beyond the normal school day, including breakfast and after-school provision where available. Families can find information about current times, availability, eligibility, costs and booking arrangements below, together with details of our wider clubs and activities.

Working Together to Help Every Child Thrive
